The jelly like substance we are rest on now is called the cytoplasm. As you can tell, it is a point slippery and bouncy, so be careful not to fall. The cytoplasm contains water chemicals, and structures that carry out the life processes in the cell; it is one of the most important parts of the cell!

To the right, is a perch shaped organelle, called mitochondria. It has a smooth outer membrane and a greatly folded inner membrane. These folded organelles generate energy for the cell. If the mitochondria produce a lot of energy, the cell will move quickly. But if they deprivation energy, the cell will mope around, slowly.
