The Angels and the Saxon were the largest of three disposed tribes and were also known as the Anglo-Saxons. They shared the same lecture but were ruled by different strong warriors. The Anglo-Saxons were warrior farmers and came from due north Western Europe. They loved fighting and were very fierce. They sailed in ships that were long, had one and only(a) sail and many oars. They led a nomadic smell unaffected by Roman influences.
According to historians theyre non sure why the Anglo-Saxons came to Britain. The historian, Bede, suggests the Celtic king Vortigern invited them to help him against his rivals in Britain. Another reason may have been due to and problem growing crops on their land so they were looking for bare-ass places to settle and farm.
The Anglo-Saxon England was divided along ethnic and political lines causing kingdoms to fight among themselves and boundaries to shift constantly. Anglo-Saxon laws consisted of three components: the laws and collections of the king, absolute statements of customs found in the Domesday Book, and private compitations of legal rules and enactments. preservation of peace was a very important feature of Anglo-Saxon law.
Peace was thought of as the rule of an authority deep down a specific region. Because the ultimate authority was the king, there was a gradual evolution of stringent rules and regulations against violating the kings peace.
The Anglo-Saxons hero-worship the same gods as the Norse and the Germanic people. The polytheistic ghostlike ideas of the Anglo-Saxons made allowance for the worship of many gods. They had temples that housed idols of their gods as hale as alters. Some of the gods they worshipped were Woden, the god of death, battle, wisdom, and discoverer of the runes.
