I believe the controversy over whether Columbus Day should be celebrated should be solved by not just giving credit to Columbus himself still to all the explorers that helped discover the new world. Many people from early(a) empires and countries discovered places in the new world that Columbus neer even had any idea existed. My opinion is that the name should be altered to fit a more universal feature. Something resembling New World day would encompass all of the efforts of European explorers that formed the world we know today as labor union and South America.
