Even though women do done many great things for the world until the start of the gentlemans gentleman rights movement in the early 1840s women have been everywherelooked and overshadowed by men. This is no different in the science field. Women have do changes in the science field both large and miniscule Its women like Sau Lan Lu (physics), Ellen dismay Richards (chemistry), and even women in our own community like our very own Joan Jones(Biology) or jean Nocito-Gobel. That have given young women all over the world hopes of making the next big advancement in biotechnology.
When you think physics the first name that comes to mind is commonly Isaac Newton. However one of the biggest discoveries in physics was made by a muliebrity. Sue Lan Lu was born in Hong Kong and devoted her life to science. She graduated from Harvard with a PhD. And worked as a research associate at MIT. She was the leader of the team that discover a new particle know as J/psi or the charm quark and then later discovered the gluon. The gluon is what holds quarks together to form particles such as protons and neutrons. How fundament such a huge advancement be overlooked.
Ellen Swallow Richards was a woman of equally great accomplishments.



At the age of twenty six she entered Vassar and finished their four year plan in just two years. Later she was admitted to MIT and became the first woman to obtain a bachelors degree in America. She was appointed as an instructor in the new field, teaching the analysis of food, water, sewage, and short letter to future sanitary engineers. she analyzed more than 100,000 samples of the states water and sewage over a two-year catch and then produced the worlds first water whiteness tables and the first state water quality standards in the U.S.
