PARADISE LOST AS AN EPIC One of the Great Epics: It is an grand of art, the production of one poet who wrote with a purpose and with a ripe knowledge of generations of literature behind him. His objective is clear, he would to relinquish the ways of God by showing that evil in the world came not from a deity who is each loving, all knowing, all powerful, but from a spirit who is the essence of evil, as God is the essence of good.
